Click on the video above to watch. Happy Holidays everyone. I hope that the season finds you all well, healthy and happy. It is a particularly stressful time of year, so take a little break and watch me create this art journal page. Cheers!
Make and Take Creative Classes – ARE FINALLY HAPPENING! Watch Facebook for the announcement. I will be teaching two creative classes per month starting in August at Whimsy Flowers and Gifts. Click here to like Whimsy’s Facebook page to make sure you don’t miss the notification of when registrations begin. Yippee! Space is limited so once you see the announcement, book quickly. It is going to be so much fun. I can’t wait to play in the paint with some new people.
I can hardly believe that July is almost over! It has been a great summer so far. I have some exciting news to share; keep your eyes open for the formal announcement of my next gallery show, happening at the Phoenix Theatre here in Fort Nelson. I am expecting it to happen in the first half of November. Once the dates have been nailed down and everything is confirmed, I will be posting a special invitation to the event.
I have a couple of commissions to finish up, and a couple of pieces to make for an upcoming competition and then I will be “nose to the grindstone” making sure I have some spectacular new paintings for the November show. I am SO EXCITED!
For those of you who look for my art at Gourmet Girl, here in Fort Nelson, I will be restocking framed prints and I have a couple of printed canvas prints going up for sale as well. Stop in and say hi to Nicole and the girls and take a peek.
I got my copy of my coffee-table book a couple of weeks ago. It looks great and I will have copies of it available for sale at Whimsy in September. The one and only copy is available for viewing at Whimsy Flowers and Gifts right now if you want to have a sneak peak.
SALE – I have several 9 x 12 works on paper that I am making available for sale for an incredible $50 each. Shipping within Canada and the US is FREE! Get yours before they are gone.
Just a quick post, I am a busy, busy girl right now. I wanted to share my two latest paintings with you. Wild Warrior is one of my latest paintings. Sorry, this one has already been purchased, but prints will be available in the future. Wild Warrior did not even make it up on the walls at Whimsy before it was plucked up and sent on to a wonderful new home.
Pictures do not do this one justice. Waking Up is a large 24 x 36 inches and is rich with texture and detail. Waking Up will be available for viewing at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery in a day or two and will be hanging until July 30th. This new piece is replacing “Family Time” which will be joining “Wild Warrior” and “Bedtime Stories” with a wonderful new customer in Alberta. (Goosebumps of Joy!)
There are a few more pieces close to completion that I will be sharing soon, so stay tuned!
In the heat of the summer, I have been painting winter. My most recent piece is “Bedtime Stories” I love the cool tones and the conversation that is going on between the bear and the tree. I feel cooler just staring at it. “Bedtime Stories” , it is 16 x 16 inches on cradled birch. SOLD
If you follow me on Facebook you will see that I recently pulled out a HUGE cache of my older art from storage. Stay tuned, I will be reworking some of these, and will soon be making several available for sale.
Wonderful Kelly Hodge helped me to get five of my original paintings in to the Dawson Creek Art Gallery summer show. If you live near Dawson Creek be sure to stop in at the gallery until July 30th to have a look, or do some shopping :). The very talented Amy Yetmen, a very talented photographer from Fort Nelson has five beautiful northern lights photographs hanging on the walls as well. WOO HOO!

Lots of new art to share with you and several new original paintings are available for sale!
Triumphant – 16 x 20 inches – available for sale.
I have been busy creating lots of new artwork. The painting above “Triumphant” is extra bright and colorful. Light blue, teal, purple and of course the explosive yellow and green background make this one pop!
Daisy- 18 x 24 inches. Available for sale.
“Daisy” is a tribute to two of my favorite things. Bears and my big fluffy mutt Daisy Duke. Look closely to see all of the detail work in this one. I almost thought I might never get this one complete. I smile every time I see this one, ah Daisy Duke.
Enchanted – 16 x 16 inches on cradled birch panel. Available for sale.
It has been a little while since I made a deer painting. I love the rich brown tones in the deer punctuated by the very deep colored moon. Photos do not do this one justice. I can never get the rich teal tones to come alive in my photos. One day I may figure it out.
Frozen – 18 x 24 on cradled birch panel. SOLD
Frozen. Again, the teal tones in the sky do not come out in my photos. Argh. The patterning on the foreground reminds me of a warm cozy sweater. Look closely to see all of the detail in this beauty. And of course there is a bear!
The Fire Within – 12 x 12 inches on cradled birch panel.SOLD.
The Fire Within speaks volumes with its color and symbolism. I love getting lost in creating something new and later stepping back and finding the story in the created painting. What story does this speak to you?
Fairy Breath – a mini. Only 6 x 6inches. SOLD
I have also created a page for commissions. Please make sure to check them out! I had taken a break from commissions for a few months to give me some time to create art for myself, but I am open to take a couple of new ones at this time. Please note that any commissions will not be ready in time for the holidays. But if you are interested in commissioning a painting from me, it takes about a month for most commissions, allowing enough time to complete the painting and sufficient time for the painting to “cure” so that it is safe for shipping.
Love, joy and peace to you all.
