Recycle Art Gone Wild!

This summer I was lucky enough to be chosen to create a piece of art for the Students of Chalo School.  These amazing kids won the BC Green Games two years in a row and I was chosen to create a piece of art with the winning students to celebrate their success.  And it is a good thing I had all summer to create this piece!  The drying time required weeks between layers.  The finished piece is 36 x 36 inches and probably weighed about 50 lbs.  The students who participated in this project were given three sketches to choose from and brought in items from their own junk drawers to include in the artwork.  I happily imagine busy young minds occupying themselves for hours playing “I Spy” looking for the objects they supplied, or maybe even imagining what other “useless” non-recyclable items they may have at home that can be turned in to something amazing. Well done Chalo kids! and thank you for including my art in the celebration.
