My kickstarter launch went live on November 20th. To date I have reached almost a third of my goal! Thank you to everyone for your support.
Gallery Show Saturday, November 30th at Whimsy Flowers and Gifts and Front Page News
I am thrilled to be a part of a new gallery show at Whimsy. The opening is tonight at 6pm. There is art by Rachel Thompson, Brenda Hildebrand, Amber Hanaback, Leanne Connoly and Connie Ashdown. Kelly has done an amazing job of promoting local artists in Fort Nelson, if you are close by, be sure to come and check it out! If you are local, I am sure you saw my goofy grin and my art made the front page of the newspaper last week. There was a full write up on the artists presenting at tonights show, if you haven’t already, check it out!
New Junk Drawer pieces
I have soooo much fun creating these. I have hit up everyone I know for the leavings at the bottom of their junk drawers latley and I have had a blast creating these smaller artworks. I have them available for sale at Whimsy right now, but after the gallery show I will be making some of them available on Etsy. Stay tuned!
For the Kickstarter campaign I created 4 different greeting cards. You can see examples of them below!
Ok, that was a lot for one post. I have a very special, very large painting that I am unveiling at tonights show. I will post more about it tomorrow!
This summer, my great friend Kelly Hodge opened her flower shop Whimsy Flowers and Gifts here in Fort Nelson, BC. Kelly has been such a huge supporter of my work and has graciously allowed me to take over some prime real estate on her walls to display and sell my original paintings.
Whimsy is a bright, energizing and eclectic shop filled with the most amazing fair trade goods, original work from local artists such as Kelly’s own handmade jewellery (Kayas Kreations), the beautiful handmade fused glass jewellery of local artit Rachel Thompson, the georgeous antler carvings of the talented Brenda Hildebrant and of course the amazing floral art of Kelly Hodge.
I encourage anyone in the area to go and visit Whimsy Flowers and gifts. Kelly is a joy to speak with and the store is an absolute delight for all of the senses.
This weekend I was very fortunate to meet Corinne and Gary from ArtsQuest.ca and do an interview with them among my art at Whimsy Flowers and Gifts here in Fort Nelson.
Corinne and Gary are an amazing couple who are driving all across Canada interviewing artists in their decked out Westfalia van with their cat Marli. They are such a warm and engaging couple and I had a wonderful time visiting with them. Our visit was over all to soon as they had to get back on the road to interview Sandy Troudt in Fort St John the next day. ArtsQuest.ca is a fantastic website that features many interviews with Canadian Artists of all genres. Soon, they will also offer an online market place for Canadian artists to market their talents online. I am eager to have a look at it! To visit the site, click on the logo above. Be sure to bookmark the site as my interview with them will be available soon. I will put up a link once it is available.
